  Can not say enough great things about this studio. As a beginner I do like the fact that the studio is small and instructors get a chance to focus on each person when needed. I think everyone should give it a try assuming you don’t have major health issues to be worried about. It is also surprisingly fun to explore yourself, your abilities and your limitations.

  I tried Pilates a while ago at a franchised studio (iykyk) and, while it was a good experience, when I wanted to advance, the advanced classes were TAKING ME OUT. I always just blamed myself and nearly hurt myself tbh. But after working with Fon at Powell Pilates I know exactly why - my form! Fon takes her time, ensuring everyone has excellent form and is practicing safely. Over two months I have more noticeable flexibility, core stability, and less pain from my chronic conditions than 8 months at my previous studio. How hard is it to book classes: not hard as of August 2026 How hands on: respectful but dedicated to your form being excellent Fon truly cares about all of her students. She asks questions, shows up to class with a sense of humor and professionalism and always offers helpful feedback in a kind way to get your form right each class. Also I’m an artist who sells my work around Chicago and she not only came to support me she sent friends to do the same. She is a genuinely excellent instructor and a great person to trust with your wellness journey. Also she offers a complimentary coffee/matcha/lemonade nice beverage after each class. She is the first one to shoutout your wins and actively encourages you to be your best self. Powell Pilates is the best Pilates studio I’ve been to in Chicago and Fon and the other instructors are excellent teachers. Can not recommend this enough.
