About

Solis Movement East Toronto is a Pilates and yoga studio in Old Toronto offering hot Pilates, hot yoga including vinyasa and power classes, and reformer Pilates. Reviewers describe a spacious, clean and well-decorated facility with a lobby lounge, larger rooms and washrooms than other Solis locations, showers, a fully equipped change room and complimentary towels. Classes are sweaty and challenging, and one group booked it for a birthday celebration. Criticism recurs, though. Several reviews describe front desk staff as cold, and one reformer regular objects to the cost of the grip socks required for class if you forget your own. Others found a reformer fundamentals class and a hot power class too hard for beginners, and some report instructors cutting a class short or being distracting.

I had a class today at the east location at 9:25am with Vanessa. We started around 9:28am with warm up and finished class at 10:08am including cool down. So the class ran for 40 mins total. The normal class length is 45 mins. It would have been great if she used the full class time to run thru more excercises.

My 1st visit at this location & I absolutely loved it! Terry & Sheeema were amazing, answered all my questions & I also purchased the cutest evil eye grip socks! I had a hot vinyasa class with Melanie & really enjoy it! The facility is extremely clean, has showers & provide complimentary towels. This Solis is spacious & has a beautiful lobby lounge area as well as the rooms/washrooms are bigger. I highly recommend this location! I can’t wait to come back 🥰

Reformer classes require grip socks which if you forget your pair or don’t have a pair, the studio offers them for purchase at an exorbitant price of $26.50. I’ve never experienced this type of price gouging at a Pilates studio. The other option was to skip the class and pay the penalty of $20. Exploiting your clientele really ruins the experience and I would highly advise adjusting the price to something more reasonable or offering them for rent like the other studios in the city.
