SALTVAULT Hot Pilates Classes & Studio of San Diego, CA

About

SALTVAULT is a hot Pilates studio in downtown San Diego. Reviewers describe sweaty, full-body mat classes with loud, high-energy music, and mention Spice and Savor class types. Lauren and Nubia Enriquez are praised by name for motivating the room, and members call the classes challenging but fun, in a clean studio with a welcoming community. The criticisms are consistent. Several reviewers find it expensive, especially as it offers hot mat Pilates and not reformer classes. Late-cancel charges (a $10 fee on top of the class cost) upset one visitor, one first-timer felt unwelcome, and another was uncomfortable that other people filmed their workouts in class.

Booked a class here and paid upfront ($32). I’ve taken classes here in the past, but ended up missing this one due to a rough night with my toddler. I understand cancellation policies, but I was surprised to also be charged an additional $10 fee on top of losing the class and my $32. OVERPRICED for the experience in my opinion. Parking is very limited (expect to pay), mats are an extra charge, and the instructors aren’t that welcoming to new clients. I also reached out to discuss the charge and never received a callback, which was disappointing. Hoping they improve communication and customer experience…. I did take one class here and her name was Nubia and she was the one girl who was super kind, very helpful and the reason why I decided to consider a membership…

I really loved this place for getting a great workout in. Every time I walked out I felt energized, endorphins are flowing, and there’s so many great coffee shops around the area for after class (even though it’s not needed). I did recently forget my Lululemon yoga mat there, which I have forgotten in other studios before and have come back the next day to find it there. This was not the case for SaltVault, which was a real bummer. That set me off on returning. I might at a future date, but it was a shame that there is no sense of community in this studio if things are being taken.
