About

The Pilates Apothecary is a private studio in East Austin run by Ashley, who is named in nearly every review. Sessions are mostly one-on-one and tailored: clients describe her listening to their goals, explaining movements clearly and adjusting the pace. She is praised for her knowledge of anatomy, breathwork and form, and for her background in yoga and Pilates. Reviewers use it for first-time Pilates, rehab after a hip replacement, hypermobility, and general strength. They describe a calm, clean, judgement-free space that feels more like self-care than a gym, and several mention that each session starts with a cup of herbal tea. One trained with her in a Pilates-yoga fusion training. Older beginners in particular recommend her patient approach.

Ashley at The Pilates Apothecary is simply amazing. I LOVE going to her private studio not only she knows Pilates forms and techniques extremely well, but more importantly, she knows how to communicate those things to neophytes like me! I like understanding the exercise and she's great at helping make minor adjustments to make sure I'm getting the most from each exercise. I can highly recommend Ashley esp if you're a little older and have little experience with Pilates.

Ashley is amazing! My mom has started working with her for two months now and her core is super strong now! Beautiful studio, patience and a wealth of knowledge. I highly recommend to anyone interested in starting or advancing with pilates!

Ashley is an excellent excellent Pilates teacher full stop. She started teaching me Pilates 20 years ago when she was first starting out and she was a true and dedicated student of the craft. I could not be prouder of her success with her business which she built the hard way. Step by step, no shortcuts, never giving up no matter how hard the entrepreneurial road became. She is sincerely interested in being sure you have the best experience and no attention to detail is too small. And she is still the best Pilates teacher I have ever had as I have moved around the country. You need Ashley in your life.
