I went to Shawnte's heated flow on Friday 8/28. It was great- nice flow and included great breathwork which was an added treat. I especially appreciated Shawnte asking me what I wanted to get out of my practice before class. That focus was much appreciated. As a new yoga teacher myself, I learned from him. AND had a wonderful experience and practice. Lucy manning (dogging?) the lobby was also a special treat. She is sweet!! Will be back the next time i am in Seattle for sure.

I have been going to this studio off and on since they first opened in Greenlake. My review has been updated to reflect the changes under new management. What I Love: • Some of the best teachers in Seattle. (Please continue to invest in this category) • The small classes offer a more intimate setting than the large 50 plus classes you might find in other studios • Great variety of classes: Yin, Sculpt, Vinyasa Flow, Sound bath • Fans are always on during class allowing the air to better circulate • The weights are rubber coated and not the stinky, metallic weights. Weights range from 2-20lbs. Most common: 3, 5, 8, 10lbs • Other props include resistance bands, foam yoga blocks (different from the firm, hard cork blocks), Pilates balls, mini acupuncture balls, 1ea yoga wheel • The weekday evening class times: 5pm, 6:15, 7:30pm (please don’t change!) • Convenient, FREE parking on site (parking garage under studio) • The new owners have made some meaningful updates to the studio based on community feedback Suggestions for tweaks: • Fix shower stall – currently closed • Offer Non heated or lower temp Vinyasa Classes in summer (for those of us to want to continue to practice but need a break from the heat) In Summary: LLF offers a wide variety and range of classes, with their Sculpt class (which is like a fusion yoga class with weights) as their signature style. This class sets the studio apart from others. This class is high intensity with dance-like, clubbing music, under mirror strip lighting, and pulsing repetition. The best way to describe this class is Matt Pilates meets aerobics with Yoga poses. I love when the teacher says, “we’re going to have fun” and “Let’s party”. Sculpt is Not a typical yoga class. Do not expect to feel restored and renewed when you leave. You will be physically drained, sweaty, but get the same mental clarity. As far as the community goers - this studio is welcoming with a chatty culture (in a good way). People initiate conversation and show interest in building community. This differs from other yoga studios where serene, quiet, and calm is encouraged for a more internalized practice.
