Great, no-frills studio for both beginners and more advanced practitioners. Instructors are mostly from India and clearly know their stuff, especially when it comes to the more traditional types of yoga such as Hatha and Iyengar. My fave are the Vinyasa classes — most (but not all) teachers here are rooted in the classical, Rishikesh-based philosophy, compared to most studios in Singapore which tend to follow a Westernised, fitness-based approach. The crowd here leans 40+ but that’s not to say that they aren’t dedicated to their practice. Overall it’s a wonderful, judgement-free studio whose strength is in making all forms of yoga accessible to all ages and fitness levels. If you want the benefits of yoga but feel intimidated by pricey classes filled with flexible young things in Lululemon, then this is the studio for you.

While the studio is expanding its classes to reformer classes, I am extremely disappointed by the reduction in the other yoga classes that have been/will be replaced by reformers. When I signed up for my current package, I was promised that effort will be made such that existing package members would have a continuous choice of class (especially mat pilates and barre classes), despite ongoing efforts to include reformers into the studio. But alas, replacing or reducing normal package classes with reformers classes effectively reduces the value and choices available under my existing package. If the class schedule is going to shift significantly towards reformer clases, I would really appreciate some consideration for members whose packages do not include reformer access. I really hope that this feedback gets taken into consideration, as I strongly believe that I am not the only one feeling this way. There are many others who have been with the studio for years, and we are starting to lose the trust built over the years. Edit after Jayke from Jal Yoga received my feedback: While I understand the current renovation doesn't contribute to the reduction in classes at the moment, I have experienced it at Bukit Timah's, where my normal yoga/pilate classes were replaced by reformers. The studio should really review the balance between what it has been offering and the introduction of reformers, especially when there is a separate class package for the latter. If the studio is gearing more towards reformers at the expense of our current classes, then what does it say about the treatment of current members who have already signed on packages?

Attended a trial barre class on 20th Jan 2026 and it was a good experience. The instructor (Ms Hasita) was clear, encouraging and made the class easy to follow knowing that I am a newbie. So I decided to sign on a package to kick-start my fitness schedule which was long overdue. I also explored chair yoga but I didnt enjoy it. Next, i gave "Shoulder opening" class a try (with instructor Ms Devayani Reva) & it became my next go-to class.
